Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Tran Viet Truong urged that people should strictly follow the 5K principle, restrict movement unless for necessary purposes or emergency cases; immediately report to any health facility for treatment measures when having symptoms of COVID-19 disease.

At the 4th session, the 10th City People's Council, Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, on behalf of the City People's Committee, called upon all citizens and asked all levels of government and sectors to urgently and effectively implement the epidemic prevention and control measures. In this call, all citizens are asked to strictly follow the 5K principle, restrict movement unless for necessary purposes or emergency cases; immediately report to any health facility for treatment measures when having symptoms of COVID-19 disease.

Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of the City People's Committee delivered a speech at the meeting.

According to Mr. Tran Viet Truong, the vaccination rate for people aged 18 and over in Can Tho area reached more than 97%, of which more than 91% injected 2 doses. In addition, vaccination for children aged 12 to 17 with the 1st injection achieved a rate of more than 91% and the vaccine is sufficiently prepared when it’s time to inject the second dose. Thanks to the high vaccination rate, the death rate of COVID-19 patients in Can Tho city is only 0.76% (lower than the national average).

Currently, Can Tho is stratifying, receiving and treating COVID-19 patients under the guidance of the Ministry of Health; investing in more facilities for receiving and treating F0 patients on the 1st floor on the basis of upgrading the former concentrated isolation wards for F1 patients in all districts.
