City leaders extend Christmas wishes to Catholics and Protestants

On December 21, 2022, on the occasion of Christmas 2022, the Delegation of the City Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of Can Tho City led by Mr. Le Quang Manh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of Can Tho City National Assembly Delegation, came to extend Christmas wishes to Can Tho Bishop’s House, Can Tho City Board of Representatives of the Evangelical Churches of Vietnam (South), Can Tho Deanery.

At visiting places, Mr. Le Quang Manh communicated the city’s outstanding socio-economic achievements in 2022 and upcoming development orientations. At the same time, he recognized the contributions made by Bishops, Priests, Pastors, Catholics, and Protestants to the city’s general achievements. On behalf of the City Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and VFF Committee, he wished Bishops, Priests, Pastors, Catholics, and Protestants a merry Christmas. He hoped they would continue to promote the patriotic tradition and accompany the Party Committee, the authorities, and people from all walks of life to develop Can Tho City further.

The Bishops, Priests, and Pastors also expressed their excitement and thanked the leaders of Can Tho City for their love, concern, and greetings to Catholics and Protestants on Christmas. They promised to continue to guide and encourage Catholics and Protestants to unite with people from all walks of life to actively work, improve their lives, and carry out social charity activities, contributing to developing a civilized city.

* On the same day, the Delegation led by Mr. Dinh Trung Truc, Vice Chairman of the City VFF Committee, also came to offer Christmas greetings and gifts at Bo Ot Parish (Thot Not District); Vinh Thanh Deanery, Vinh An Deanery, Chau Long Parish (Vinh Thanh District) and Priest Phan Dinh Son, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics (CSVC), Chairman of the City CSVC.

At visiting places, Mr. Dinh Trung Truc wished priests and parishioners a merry Christmas and recognized their contributions to the city’s general achievements. He believed that the priests would continue to guide parishioners to implement the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies and laws well, actively take part in campaigns launched by the VFF at all levels, and especially carry out philanthropic activities to support people in need to build a civilized and beautiful city.
