On the occasion of the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay festival in 2022, the Working Delegation of the CPV (Communist Party of Vietnam) Central Committee led by Mr. Do Van Chien, Secretary of CPV Central Committee, Chairman of the VFF (Vietnam Fatherland Front) Central Committee paid visits, extended New Year wishes and gave gifts to typical Khmer people living in Can Tho City on the morning of April 6, at Pothisomron Pagoda, O Mon District, Can Tho City.
Mr. Do Van Chien - Chairman of the VFF Central Committee and Mr. Tran Viet Truong - Chairman of the People’s Committee of Can Tho City give gifts on the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay festival in 2022.
The delegation presented gifts to the Solidarity Association of Patriotic Monks of Can Tho City in Pothisomron Pagoda and 50 gifts (including VND 500,000 in cash and gifts worth VND 300,000) to typical monks, Achar, and Khmer individuals in the city.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the VFF Central Committee, Do Van Chien, wished dignitaries, Most Vens, Most Venerables, Achar, Buddhist monks and followers, and Khmer people a warm, peaceful and happy traditional Chol Chnam Thmay festival and new achievements in a time to come.
He hoped that they would continually mobilize their successors to study despite difficulties. At the same time, he also wanted them to foster the solidarity, join hands to further develop the homeland, maintain a healthy and hygienic living environment, actively cooperate with the local authorities in fighting against the pandemic, and promote the movement that all people unite to build new-style rural and civilized urban areas, etc.

In the morning, the Chairman and the Delegation also offered incense, planted commemorative trees at Hung Kings’ Temple in Binh Thuy District, Can Tho City, and had a meeting with the Standing Board of the VFF Committee of Can Tho City on recognizing the remarkable activities and proposals of the Committee.
