Mr. Tran Thanh Man, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, celebrates the Buddha’s Birthday in Can Tho City

On the occasion of Buddha’s 2566th Birthday in 2022, on the morning of May 15th, the Working Delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee led by Mr. Tran Thanh Man, Politburo member, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly visited and extended wishes to Most Venerable Thich Giac Nhuong, Deputy Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Patronage Council at Ngoc Minh Monastery (Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City) and Most Venerable Dao Nhu, Vice-President of the VBS Executive Council at Khmer Theravada Buddhist Academy (O Mon District, Can Tho City). It was accompanied by the representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee, the Central Commission for Mass Mobilization, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, some agencies of the National Assembly as well as Mr. Le Quang Manh, Member of the CPV Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People’s Committee, from Can Tho City.

On behalf of the Party’s and State’s leaders, Mr. Tran Thanh Man wished Most Venerable Thich Giac Nhuong, Most Venerable Dao Nhu, and all Most Venerables, Venerables, and VBS followers in Can Tho City health, peace and happiness. He informed that the unstable context of Vietnam and the world, especially the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and the complex situation of COVID-19 pandemic impacted all aspects of social life such as people’s health, production, and business activities of communities and enterprises. Thanks to the leadership of the Party, the drastic administration of the State, the active and responsible participation of the VFF, the member organizations, and people’s unity and consensus, our country had numerous achievements such as constant socio-economic development, secured macroeconomics, improved social security work, stable political security, enhanced people’s life, strengthened construction of the Party and political system, and effective anti-corruption, etc. He affirmed that the country’s general result was actively contributed by the VBS and Most Venerables, Venerables, monks, nuns, VBS followers, and the VBS Executive Council in Viet Nam, particularly in Can Tho City.

In the joy of the Buddha’s 2566th Birthday in 2022, the Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly believed that the VBS and the VBS of Can Tho City would continually be a significant connector for propagating and mobilizing Most Venerables, Venerables, monks, nuns and VBS followers in Can Tho City to promote the unity that all people actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, develop the economics, culture, and society and contribute to developing the country and Can Tho City, and strictly comply with the Party’s guidelines and policies, the State’s laws and local regulations.

Most Venerable Thich Giac Nhuong and Most Venerable Dao Nhu thanked for the concern and affection of the Party’s and State’s leaders, particularly Mr. Tran Thanh Man, for Most Venerables, Venerables, monks, nuns, and VBS followers in Can Tho City on the Buddha’s Birthday. At the same time, it was affirmed that they would keep on promoting the good traditions of Vietnamese Buddhism and taking part in building a developed, wealthy and civilized country.
